As the season comes to a close, we want to make sure you understand the two ways to qualify for Nationals. Did you know that if you compete in competitions outside of your home series, these results count toward your National Ranking and improve your chances of qualifying?

How do I qualify for Nationals?

The goal is to have the top ranked competitors regionally and nationally participate in the National Championships.There are two main pathways to qualify for the USASA National Championships: through your Regional Series, or through the National Rankings. Quotas are established each season as a percentage of the nationwide membership in each age group not to exceed 68 competitors. Quotas will be released on March 4th, 2024.

All qualifications must be claimed within the 48 hr timeframe or the position will be forfeited. Email notifications are not sent to advise of positions available. There are no exceptions, you must check your athlete profile within the time frames posted for each round of invites and accept your position. If you miss the window to claim your position we will award your qualification to the next available competitor. 

Regional Series Qualification

• Regional Series are allocated one position for their series winner in each discipline, age class and gender, regardless of events hosted. If a series does not host an event, the highest ranked competitor based on the national ranking from the respective home series will be awarded the position.
• In the event that the Regional Series winner is unable to attend the National Championships, that position is forfeited back to the National Ranking quota.

National Ranking Qualification

• A competitors best three (3) results will be combined, if less than (3) are available the sum of those will be used.
• National Rankings will be used to seed any remaining positions up to the stated field sizes.
• Field sizes are based off a sliding percentage scale of the overall participation nationally- not to exceed 68 per age group. Quotas will be released on March 4th, 2024.
• National Championships Qualifications will be awarded via the National Ranking list beginning March 15 2024, based on the posted registration schedule below.
• All qualifications must be claimed or the position will be forfeited. There are no exceptions made.
• USASA will continue to attempt to fill the fields based on the qualifying criteria and will re-invite open positions in order every based on the registration schedule until field sizes are met or until Saturday, Mar 25th, 2024 at 11:59:00 pm PDT.
• You must claim your position via the National Ranking list/athlete profile or it will be forfeited. 
• Once a position is forfeited it cannot be returned and will go to the next person in line.
• If quotas remain unfilled USASA will not re-invite expired entries to fill fields.
• No additions to any field may be added on site, no exceptions.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP REGISTRATION SCHEDULE - 

• RD1  MARCH 15-18. Will open @ 8am MDT for the Regionally Qualified Athletes- Only those who have secured a regional series qualification will be invited during this period.

Regional series winners are ranked within the National Ranking and will be invited in the first round regardless of National Rank. If an athlete receives an invite ahead of you in the National Ranking it is because they won a regional series qualification.

Each Following invite round begins @8am MDT 

• RD2  MARCH 19-20     National Ranking Invites/Injury/HP Petitions- up to the posted field sizes.
• RD3  MARCH 21-22     National Ranking Invites- up to the posted field sizes.
• RD4  MARCH 23-24     National Ranking Invites- up to the posted field sizes.
• RD5  MARCH 25          National Ranking Invites/General Petitions-up to the posted field sizes.

Registration will refresh on the first day of the next round at 7:59:59am MDT.

The Final round of invites will close on Saturday, Mar 25th, 2024 at 11:59:00 pm MDT. After this time no additions will be made.

USASA does not send the "invites" to your email, or advise when they become available. The "invite" to register appears in your athlete profile within the above scheduled times.

Once a round of invites is closed all invites offered that are not accepted are forfeited. If you miss your invite USASA will offer it to the next competitor in the next round and it can not be given back to you.

If there are openings in the events after Midnight on March 25th, USASA will not fill these positions. They will remain unfilled and will not be awarded.

USASA has a no refund policy for all event entries. 

When the Nationals invite tab is available (after March 15th) you must accept your qualification(s) when they become active. This means setting reminders to check back after each round to see if your invite is available. If you do not accept your qualification within the round it is offered USASA will issue it to the next athlete in line during the next round. If you have an invite in another event that you are waiting for you must come back and claim that position when it becomes available.
