This past week I experienced the east coast and all the ice and slush it has to offer. It started at Sugarloaf Maine for the USSA Revolution Tour Final Stop. I ended up getting 4th in halfpipe and 7th in slopestyle. Not the results I was hoping for, especially because I was so close to the overall titles for both halfpipe and slopestyle. After the competition was over we explored the rest of the mountain. The funnest run on all of Sugarloaf was called Lower Tomahawk. It’s an icy mogul run through the trees with an icy gap called “the devil’s toenail” at the end. It was awesome and we only hit it like twenty times. To finish off my Maine trip I ate some delicious lobster that was only two hours off the boat, but unfortunately I never saw a moose.

The postponed SBX finals took place on Thursday morning under a totally clear sky. After our “fog out” day, the blue skies and sunshine were a welcome sight. The riders had not lost their eagerness to get out and race against the best SBX juniors in the world. In women’s action, Jenna Feldman, Jackie Hernandez and Faye Gulini were all eliminated in their first heats despite strong riding in training. Final results had Faye leading the US women in 9th place with Jackie right behind her in the 12th spot. Jenna rounded out the Finals field in 16th place.

USASA at the Northstar Winter Dew Tour
The final stop of the AST Winter Dew Tour was held at Northstar-at-Tahoe this past weekend and I had the opportunity to be there all four days to manage our booth. With the help of some great volunteers, including Zippy, Nicole, Elan and my wife and kids, we were able to spread the word about what USASA is all about and give out lots of free stuff. PacSun USASA Team riders Kelly Marren and Trevor Jacob did a few autograph signings over the weekend andour bandanas were a big hit, especially on Sunday when the weather got bad. The weather couldn't have been better the first 3 days, practically spring conditions, but Sunday was rainy and WET.
