TOPIC: Get two days of advance SBX Training at Copper

Get two days of advance SBX Training at Copper 5 years, 1 month ago #115

This is your only opportunity aside from having already participated in the Rocky Mountain Series, Revolution Tour or NorAMs to get a couple of days of training in on the hill that will be hosting the 2009 USASA National Championships.

Last year the USASA Forum was a blaze with requests for more opportunity to train prior to the competition.

Copper Mountain Listened

The boardercross course at Copper Mountain will be open and available for training by all current USASA Members on Thursday April 2nd and Friday April 3rd, 2009 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm for a daily fee of $35 per rider. We will be able to accomodate approximately 120 riders per day, so sign up early to avoid disappointment.

The course will be groomed daily and fully staffed. You will be required to register online in advance to participate in the training sessions. Online registration is available only at www.rockymountainseries.com Just click on the Registration Link located under the Schedule Menu! You must register online in advance, there will be no on site registration for training.

A training bib will be required to gain access to the course and will be available for pickup the morning of the training session at the Event Registration Office, located on the lower level of Copper One directly adjacent to the main ticket windows. A discounted lift ticket for $31 is also available for those athletes participating in the training session. Training bibs must be turned in after the session.

Coaches must have a valid & current USASA credential in order to gain access to the venue. Certified USASA Coaches participating in the training sessions will be provided with daily comp lift tickets. Helmets are required to be worn by all coaches.

The boardercross course is located on Vein Glory riders left of the Catalyst Terrain Park. Lift access via the American Flyer or High Point lifts.

Sweet! Thanks for pulling this together.

This is an issue with BX in general. You only get to practice when a course is available. Most of the time our mountain has no BX course. Only prior to a race is there a course and never enough time to practice. The course is usually pulled down the next day.

The Nationals BX course last year was chanllenging to say the least! Practice day had 60 competitors in breaker boys with 90 mins to practice. you were lucky to get two runs in.

This is an excellent opportunity to have actual training time with a limited number of riders!

Thanks Rocky Mt. series!

Quick question. You say that "Certified USASA Coaches participating in the training sessions will be provided with daily comp lift tickets. Helmets are required to be worn by all coaches." Coaches do not need to register for the training - just the athlete, correct?

Athletes are required to register. Coaches MUST present a USASA Coaches Credential or they will NOT be allowed on the course. As always coaches and athletes may participate together during inspection, Coaches however are not allowed to participate in training.
