Southwest Freeride Series

The USASA (United States of America Snowboard/Skier Association) is a grassroots organization that promotes fair and fun events for snowboarders and skiers while fostering a competitive spirit.  Every year riders compete in rail jam, slalom, giant slalom, slopestyle, boarder/skier cross and halfpipe events at the regional level.  Skiers can be involved in the slopestyle, skiercross and halfpipe events.  Riders accumulate points to qualify for  the National Championships held each year in Copper Mountain.  There they will compete against the best boarders and free skiers in America.  The goal is to promote fun lifelong activities for snowboarders and skier of all ages.

The Southwest Freeride Series (formerly New Mexico Series) along with Angel Fire Resort was host to the 2004 Nationals with 1118 competitors ranging in age from 6 to 60. The Southwest Freeride Series has a schedule for the 2014-15 season set (listed below) for rail jam, Slalom/giant slalom, slopestyle, and boarder/skier cross with the possibility of adding events still pending.

We hope for you to join our series to make it even stronger.  We had 45 riders attend Nationals last year with many top ten, Podium Finishes and 1 National Champion!!!!!  We would like to continue and expand on that tradition.  If you would like to learn more, check out or email our Series Directors: Fred & Kele McDaniel   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Snowsports are no different and when you paticipate in a sport where you leave the surface of the Earth, the danger factor increase considerably!  We recommend all competitors be outfitted with snow sports armour.  For example:  mouthguard, upper body armour, elbow pads, wrist guards, hip armour, knee pads, shin guards.  Check out   20% of purchases made from Unequal Technologies goes back to USASA!
