Sunny spring days continued here at Copper Mountain, CO as the Open Class Freeskiers took to the Columbia Halfpipe for day three of competition at USASA Nationals. North Tahoe Series skier, Eileen Gu, completed the Nationals trifecta in the women’s division by adding a halfpipe gold to golds in slopestyle, and rail jam. Gu put down back to back right and left 540s on the first hit to beat out Connie Brogden and Hannah Blackwell who took silver and bronze respectively.
On the men’s side, Cassidy Jarrell of the Aspen Snowmass Series took gold putting down a clean, technical run beating out Lennon Vaughan in silver, Joey Lang in third. Dylan Ladd, missed the podium in fourth but walked away with Columbia Sportswear’s $400 gift card for Best Trick and a set of wireless speakers from Braven for the highest air for at 13ft.
Breaker, Grommet and Menehune boys dominated the Kind Snacks' slopestyle course with Connor Ladd from the Breaker boys division taking home gold. Jack Votaw took gold for the Grommets and Axl Boneberger took home his second gold of the weekend in the Menehune division.
The Breaker, Grommet and Junior girls raced down the skiercross course on the hunt for USASA National titles with Audrey Higgins-Lopez, Eleanor Andrews and Zoe Livran taking home top honors.
