So I spent what appears to be my last day on snow at Squaw on Saturday. It was the perfect way to end an outstanding season. I was trying front 7’s all day and came very close to landing a front 9. It was so sunny and warm. I’m bummed to be off snow, I miss it already!
My season has been pretty crazy and I haven’t had much time to write you all and tell you about it. So here goes…some of you know I made the Olympic team this year and attended my very first Winter Olympic Games. It was a lot of fun. The best part about it was walking in Opening Ceremonies. It was such a great, rewarding experience. It was kind of nerve racking competing because I have never competed for a crowd that big before and I knew many of my friends that had never seen me compete before would be watching. I ended up getting 12th place. I feel I could have done better but I am very proud of my performance. I wish I had stayed longer after I competed and seen more events. But I was very excited to get home to my family.
After the Olympics I thought things would slow down a bit. But we were shipped right off to Europe to finish the World Cup tour. I ended up 15th in Italy and 9th in Spain. After Spain I came back to compete in USASA Nationals. I competed in all 5 events and ended up on the podium twice. The weather was awesome and it was the ideal contest to end my competitions for the season.
I’m back in school now just waiting to get back on snow! I’ll let you guys know how summer goes!
