So I woke up early in the morning in Silverthorne for the rev tour slope at copper. I think the mixture of it being 730 AM, the freezing cold, and the fact that I was upset I didn't do weather the day before, made it seem as though it wasn't a contest day. Regardless I was excited to be surrounded by all of my friends at the top of the slope.
During practice we got 3 runs. My first run was a straight air run which went smoothly. The next two I tried spinning up top and fell on a front 3 one run and a half cab the other. I didn't have much confidence going into the contest considering I didn't truly land a practice run. So I decided to play it safe for qualifiers and went front 3 on the 1st jump and simple grabs on the 2nd and 3rd. luckily that was enough to get me through to the finals.
In practice for finals I knew I had to step up my game and decided to spin the last jump. It took a little talking from Miah to get the confidence but it was one of the most exhilerating things I have ever done. I tried it twice in practice and sat down on the landing both times. I knew that I wouldn't podium without it so I went for it in my run. I ended up doing half cab on the first, method on the second, and the biggest front 3 of my life on the third and stomped it. I landed the rails clean at the bottom and was excited that I landed my run. I ended up getting 2nd and it was a big confidence boost for the rest of the season!!
