After I got back from New Zealand in late September I packed up my truck with my Harley and have been living in Park City, Utah, training at the USSA Center Of Excellence with the US Team. I am currently on my 6th week of training and it is a lot of hard work!
Hi, Zoe Kalapos here. Wanted to let everyone know how excited I am to be on the USASA 2012-2013 Team. I have been on snow my entire life. I started skiing in Northern Michigan when I was 2, and switched to snowboarding at age 5. Last season was one of my best seasons yet! I won the Burton European Open for Junior Women’s Halfpipe, took 1st place at the USASA Nationals for Youth Women’s Halfpipe and got 2nd place in Slopestyle for Youth Women’s at Nationals.
I finally got home from what seemed like 3 days of travel. Flying across the world really takes a lot out of you but it is totally worth it! The 3 week camp at Cardrona with the US Team was awesome! It was not only really beneficial for my riding but it was a blast!
It has been a while since I last wrote so I have plenty to tell you about. After the Canyons event I went straight to Canada for a World Cup race where I got my best World Cup result. I placed 5th! After Canada I went to Europe for 3 weeks. There I competed in 2 World Cup races and Junior Worlds. I placed 10th in both the World Cups and 4th and Junior Worlds.
