USASA PacSun team athletes, Kelly Marren, JJ Tomlinson, Faye Gulini, and Mick Dierdorff had a great showing at X 14. This was everyone except Faye’s first X. Kelly Marren, who participated in Womens Superpipe, explains "It's cool to be a part of something that involves other extreme sports; to know that we are a part of something really big is really motivating".
Athletes had super weather and lots of visitors to the PacSun USASA booth for autograph signings and schwag. Team members Molly Wilson, Mick Dierdorff, JJ Tomlinson, Faye Gulini, and Brooke Shaw took over this afternoon and signed hundreds of posters for X Games spectators.
The Weather wasn’t the only thing that turned out great. Getting into the X Games is hard enough, yet these junior riders had great Results as well.
Boardercross riders Gulini, Dierdorff and Tomlinson had stacked fields and managed to all make it into heats. In the end Faye ended up 7th after winning the consolation round. JJ made it into the big show ending up 5th. Mick also rode well in his first X placing 16th. Marren ended up her week in 16th in womens superpipe.
The PacSun USASA team had a great week, when the crew wasn’t competing they were hanging out in the PacSun Lounge just being kids. Seventeen Magazine came in and gave the girls makeovers while watching Superpipe finals. Last year Pacsun USASA had one athlete in X, this year saw 4. What will next year look like?
