February 25, 2013. Bondville, Vermont. The United States of America Snowboard Association (USASA) is launching the organization’s 25th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign today. The goal of the campaign is to raise $250,000 by the end of the year to fund The USASA Foundation.
Funds raised through the year-long campaign will be used to further the mission of The USASA Foundation: The USASA Foundation’s mission is to create grant programs that will benefit talented athletes, officials, coaches and series directors to further enhance the sports of snowboarding and freeski in accordance with USASA core values.
• To provide grants and scholarships to financially challenged athletes.
• To underwrite expenses of USASA athletes in financial need
• To develop educational programs to enhance USASA coaching, judges and officials clinics.
• To financially assist the USASA so that they may continue their mission and vision across the nation.
The first benchmark goal of the fundraising effort is the “25 for 25” campaign that will run through the last day of the 2013 USASA National Championships at Copper Mountain.
The “25 for 25” campaign features a matching grant of $25,000, being raised by a pool of anonymous donors, that will be awarded to The USASA Foundation, provided that $25,000 is raised through online fundraising efforts and general contributions mailed in to the organization.
Commenting on the launch of the 25th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign, USASA Foundation Board Member, Teresa Jenson stated, “"We are delighted to take the USASA Foundation to the next level; one that is capable of providing enhanced resources, growing financial support and making a positive impact on athletes, programs and the industry."
About the USASA Foundation
The USASA Foundation, Inc. was formed in 2008 to provide financial assistance to the USASA and its members. It is an independent 501(c)(3) aimed at raising funds to support USASA’s programs and members. The long terms goals are to create an endowment as well as provide financial support to members through various support programs for athletes, Series Directors, officials and coaches.
United States of America Snowboard Association is dedicated to supporting recreational and competitive snowboarding within 30 regional series throughout the United States of America. Since 1988, USASA has fostered the competitive spirit of snowboard athletes and developed a solid grassroots organization that allows boys and girls of all ages and abilities to participate in over 500 organized snowboard events that qualify for national and international competition.
