Hey I am trying to get involved in boarder cross. I live in PA which is the northeast but idk if I am in that or the Appalachian region. I really am just trying to get a list of events near me or even a course to try. Really any information to get me going would be awesome.
Thanks!

Hey -
Sorry about the delayed response to your question. The Mid-Atlantic series holds events in Pennsylvania, and it looks like they haven't done any boardcross yet, so you are in luck if you want to check it out! The boardercross events are January 30th and March 12th. I pasted their schedule below, but you can also go to "Events" up top and choose "Regional". Then pick "Mid-Atlantic" for the series. Good luck! If you have any other questions, feel free to fire them off. I hope you check out boardercross-it happens to be my favorite! Have fun!

Is each bx race an independent event or are there qualifying requirements that build through the series?

Thx much!

Good question. Each BX race is an independent event. If you do 2-3 of the independent BX events, you can qualify for USASA Nationals. Each regional BX event is independent and open to whoever wants to race (after purchasing a membership and paying the event fee), no matter ago or ability. Competitors can accrue points at these regional events which may or may not qualify them for Nationals, but it is not necessary to have that goal so much as just to have fun!

I might be biased because boardercross is my favorite, but you should definitely check it out! Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hi again

I am registered for an upcoming BX event. I noticed that my registration automatically placed me in the open division. Is that because there may not be any others in my age division ( legend)

Thanks again!

Sorry for the delay in response. Did you get it figured out? You can usually ask the series folks about this too. Let me know!
