Nearly 1,900 athletes competed at the USASA National Championships this year, representing eleven countries and thirty one regional USASA series. Open Class competition was especially robust at the 2015 events at Copper, with Boarder and SkierCross participation doubling in participation.
Notably, the 2015 USASA National Championships at Copper Mountain featured exceptionally great weather over the two-week span of events. Clear, blue, sunny skies prevailed for the championships, with one overnight storm that dropped a half foot of fresh snow, just in time for presentation of the Exhibition Banked Slalom (BSL) Event on Friday, April 3. By the time the racers in the BSL event finished their practice runs, the skies had cleared. Athletes and fans were treated to an unprecedented additional week of beautiful, Colorado Rocky Mountain weather for the freeski week of competition.
A full wrap up of the USASA National Championship Freeski week will be posted on www.usasa.org in the days ahead.
