Eight events into the 2018 FIS Junior Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships at Cardrona Alpine Resort, and USASA members have already won seven medals, including two gold medals. The Junior World Championships continue through September 6 with team snowboard cross, team ski cross, slopestyle and halfpipe events.
Mac Forehand (Southern Vermont Series) and Ryan Stevenson (Rocky Mountain Series) kicked off the 2018 FIS Junior Freestyle Ski & Snowboard World Championships, winning gold and silver respectively in Sunday’s big air event. In snowboard big air, Luke Winkelmann (Rocky Mountain Series) won a silver medal.

The 2018 USASA National Championships was a success. Over 1,900 competitors ranging in age from 5 to 75 competed in snowboarding and freeskiing for just under two weeks at Copper Mountain, CO. Athletes from 32 regions and 40 states competed for USASA National Championship titles in 14 different age groups.

Every US Olympic Snowboard Team member since 2006 started their competitive careers at USASA and this year, 10 snowboarding Olympians, including gold medalist Chloe Kim, big air silver medalist Kyle Mack and bronze medalists Arielle Gold and Alex Deibold took the opportunity to return to USASA Nationals to share their journeys from regional USASA series riders to Olympic athletes. Jake Pates, Mike Trapp, Mick Deirdorff and Paralympic gold medalists Evan Strong and Mike Minor also joined the panel and shared their experiences of success and struggle to packed room of excited 2018 USASA National Championship competitors.

The 29th Annual USASA National Championships kicked off at Copper Mountain, CO with the opening ceremonies parade and festivities celebrating 1,900 competitors hailing from 32 regional series across the US. USASA National Championships celebrates its 11th year of Nationals at Copper Mountain, CO. Snowboard competition starts tomorrow on slopestyle, halfpipe, Snowboardcross, slalom, giant slalom and rail jam and continues through April 5th with Freeskiing action starting April 7th-11th.

It's been one heck of a week for USASA Alumni over in Pyeongchang with the U.S. Olympic Snowboarding team going four for four in gold medals. South Tahoe Series alum, Jamie Anderson snagged her second straight gold and So.Cal Series Alum, Shaun White nabbed his third gold medal in an emotional finale. Seventeen year olds, Red Gerard (Rocky Mountain Series) and Chloe Kim (Mammoth/Unbound Series) both earned gold and a gave the world a glimpse of what's coming down the pipeline from USASA.Rocky Mountain Series alum and two-time Olympian Arielle Gold took bronze. The next generation of Olympians are riding with USASA right now!
