The United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association (USASA) and LiveHeats have signed a landmark technology partnership which will see LiveHeats’ scoring, competition management, and athlete data technology platform rolled out through USASA Regional Series across the US and its annual National Championships.
USASA hosts over 500 regional events and the largest snowboard and freeski event in the world - The USASA National Championships. USASA’s core values of Excellence, Respect and Fun cultivate an inclusive environment for the next generation to hone their skills with competition as a foundation for growth on and off the hill.
“I am so excited to bring this to our membership! Over the next three years we will grow the digital access of event day results for our customers while creating a more user-friendly environment for our event organizers,” said Mike Mallon, USASA Executive Director. During the 2022 National Championships USASA sampled LiveHeats platforms and was able to stream real-time event results to thousands of families, USASA partners and regional communities. When combined with live streaming of Rail Jam and Halfpipe, USASA was also able to create a seamless remote event experience.
Over the next three years, the partnership will see USASA invest in Freeskiing and Snowboarding to provide LiveHeats user-friendly web-based tools for organizers, judges, athletes, parents and fans - providing real-time scores and results, start lists and heat brackets, along with athlete performance dashboards.

The folks at DOMINATOR have put together some suggested packages based on the expected snow conditions at Copper during Nationals. They are separated into two groups, performance and premium. Each group contains iron and no-iron packages, to accommodate those of us who don’t travel with waxing irons. All pastes listed are safe for air travel. The performance packages will cover the majority of the competitors, these are the waxes used by many world cup teams for training. If a few tenths of a second or a couple of feet of air separate you from the podium, then the premium package will help get you on it.

The final stop of the 2022 Futures Tour season wrapped up at Northstar Tahoe last week with slopestyle and halfpipe both taking place under sunny skies. Tatym Smith, Eleanor Andrews, Liam Brogden and Mitch Zyzelewski won gold in freeskiing while Ollie Martin, Misaki Vaughan, Barret Hendrix and Tanner Kuch walked home with gold on the snowboard side.
Northstar put together an amazing slopestyle course for two full days of action. The men’s freeski final was a close one with Big Mountain West skier, Mitch Zyzelewski edging out New Hampshire Series skier, Michael Sheehan by just two points. This is Sheehan’s third Futures Tour podium of the season. Third place went to Campbell Burrows from The Unbound Series.
