2020 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS:

Last season the USASA celebrated 30 years of Excellence, Respect, and Fun at our 3Oth annual USASA National Championships!  This was a huge milestone for USASA and also a good time to reflect and try to improve for the future.

Looking forward to the 2020 USASA National Championships we are reviewing our current competition groups and daily schedules and have made some adjustments to create the best experience for all in attendance. These finalized event schedules will be available in early February once we have a better understanding of national membership numbers in each age group.

David Retzlaff keeping it cool under pressure to win his first USASA National Slopestyle title with a 95 point run.

The final day of snowboard week competition of the 2019 USASA National Championships went down on Saturday at Copper Mountain, where once again all five daily venues were buzzing with action from first chair to last, and where the highlight Open class slopestyle competition saw Makayla Kellogg and David Retzlaff use their final runs of the day to claim this season’s national titles.

The day started with a change in schedule for the ladies, as in the riders meeting after practice the competitors on hand elected to forego qualifications and head straight into a three-run final for all riders.

Kellogg was one of the standout riders from the get-go. However, despite stomping both of her first two runs, she still found herself in second-place behind Colorado’s own Ellie Weiler before the start of run three.

As we near the end of the 2019 USASA National Snowboarding Championships the stories and the riding just keep getting better and better.  Here are just a few of those gold medal moments from yesterday's competition.

  • A Family Affair: North Tahoe Series siblings Cole and Ella Sorenson both earned wins in last night's Hard Rock Riviera Maya Rail Jam competition.
  • Zoe Bacca of the Big Mountain West Series won all of her heats in the Donek Snowboardcross to take home gold in the Youth Women's division.

The 2019 USASA National Championships are in full swing with Tuesday's competition marking the midway point. Nearly 70 gold medals have been given away, here are just a few of those gold medal moments from yesterday's competition.

Any fan of really good snowboarding was in for a treat at the 2019 USASA National Championships at Copper Mountain Resort on Wednesday afternoon, as a perfectly-cut halfpipe, ideal weather conditions, and an exceptional field of riders from around the country all combined to produce an Open class halfpipe competition that was, quite simply, excellent.

Zeb Powell took home top honors in the Hard Rock Riviera Maya Rail Jam Tuesday night. Silver and bronze went toDavid Retzlaff and TJ Fitzgerald respectively.

One of the highlight competitions of snowboard week at the 2019 USASA National Championships went down on on Tuesday night at the Centre Village base of Copper Mountain Resort, as Zeb Powell and Alexis Roland took top honors at the Open class rail jam in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
