Patti Zhou Wins Double Gold - Henry Hawkins Hard Rock Riviera Maya Best Trick Winner

Seven-year-old Chinese phenom, Patti Zhou, made waves at the first day of the 2019 USASA National Championships taking home National titles in both halfpipe and rail jam. In Columbia Halfpipe finals, Zhou landed back-to-back 540s, impressing the judges who gave her the highest score of day with 99. When nightfall hit, she took to the Hard Rock Riviera Maya Rail Jam to earn her second gold medal of Nationals competition. 
 

Other standouts of the night included fellow Grommet, Henry Hawkins, who earned himself a gold medal for his performance and Hard Rock Riviera Maya's Beach Master Best Trick award for landing a 50:50 through the down-flat-down-flat-down.


On the first day of USASA Competition, 30 National Title were awarded including, Rocky Mountain Series' Chris Pappas for men's Halfpipe Kahuna, Breaker boys, Michael Smith in GS from the New Hampshire series and Northern Vermont Series rider Nick Blaney in Slopestyle Jams. Other gold medal notables were Big Mountain West's Parker Giblin and Slalom Adaptive Class winners Dave White Jr from South Tahoe Series and Rocky Mountain Series' Arlene Cohen.
