THE FUTURES TOUR KICKS OFF AT MOUNT SNOW

The first stop of the 2023 Futures Tour kicked off at Mount Snow, VT this week ushering in the next generation of freeski and snowboard talent. Conor Cavanagh, Ty Szigeti, Eleanor Andrews and Kiara Murphy all took home top honors in the freshly built Carinthia Park.

Wednesday was dedicated to the snowboard athletes with Conor Cavanagh, Connor Kelly, LJ Henriquez, Noah Avallone all pushing the level of men’s riding with back-to-back 900s, double corks and solid rail sections. The W belonged to Connor Cavanagh who stomped a double 900 on his last run earning a 92.75 just edging out fellow Southern Vermont Series rider Connor Kelly by .75. LJ Henriquez from the Mid-Atlantic Series snagged bronze with a 90-point score.

On the women’s side, it was another tight competition with Southern Vermont Series rider Kiara Murphy earning a 65.50 – just 1 point ahead of Upper Midwest Snow Series rider Bella Warren. Top qualifier Breck Bensin from Southern Vermont Series earned bronze as the snow began to set in.


Thursday the temperatures dropped and the skies darkened but that didn’t stop the freeskiers from throwing down. In the men’s competition, it was another tight point spread with just 2.25 points between gold and bronze. But the day belonged to Southern Vermont Series’ Ty Szigeti who came out ahead less than a point ahead of Big Mountain West freeskier Sean Jensen. Bronze went to the Mt. Hood Series freeskier Anders Chapman who landed big floaty 900s.

Eleanor Andrews lead a Southern Vermont Series sweep and earned her 4th Futures Tour win at Mount Snow. Olivia DeGregorio and Skyler Jean NunezAlvarez went silver -bronze respectively.


The Futures Tour heads to Utah for halfpipe and slopestyle competition at Park City Mountain Resort and Woodward Park City from January 31st -February 3rd.
