Startlists are Posted!

Woohoo! Startlists are now posted as PDF files. Download them, print them and bring them with you because we will not be printing hundreds of pages of startlists at Nationals! Go to the Startlists link and search for your competition group and download the appropriate startlists for the events you are in.

Grand total of 1,544 competitors registered for Nationals! Not bad considering the doom and gloom economy vibe floating around the country, we are only 53 less than last year.

Pray for sun! Plenty of snow in Colorado, we need some blue bird days for the events!

Deadline to register is tonight!

Yep, we close registration for Nationals at midnight tonight. I will get all the invormation sent to me in the morning and will build out all start lists tomorrow and have them posted online as soon as I have them done. They will be in PDF format so you can download them and print them before you head to Copper.

Opening Ceremonies and Parade

Everyone needs to read this. Many years during the parade and opening ceremonies we have had issues with people throwing snowballs. Snowballs seem harmless but someone always gets hurt. We have small children, general public, staff, etc. all there to have a good time, no one wants to get hit in the head with a chunk of ice or snow. We don't want a lawsuit and you don't want a lawsuit, so bottom line, do not throw snowballs. We will NOT tolerate snowballs being thrown and Copper Mountain will not either. The Sherriffs Department will be there and we will work with them to insure that no one throws anything.

If you are caught throwing snowballs or in any other way purposely disrupting the event you will be disqualified from Nationals, you will lose your credential/lift ticket and you will not be allowed to compete. What Copper Mtn or the Sherriff decide to do is above and beyond that, so it really is not worth it, just don't do it. Cool?

For those who haven't noticed, invitations are published and emails have went out for all Regional Qualifiers, Pre Qualified riders and the first round of National Rankings. You do NOT need the email invite to register, if you see your name on an invitation list you are invited. You simply need to login and accept your spot(s) and pay for them by the deadline.

National Overall Awards/Rankings

Starting at the 2009 Nationals, we will be changing our Overall Awards. We will only have 1 Overall Award and ranking and that will be for riders that do ALL disciplines at Nationals. For snowboarders that means an overall ranking (and award) for those that compete in Halfpipe, SlopeStyle, BoarderCross, Slalom, and GS at Nationals. For skiers it will include Skiercross, Halfpipe and Slopestyle. We will no longer be awarding Overall Freestyle, Overall Alpine or Combined Overall which included Overall Freestyle and Overall Alpine.

Event Registration Pricing for this year will be the same as last year. We wish we could reduce the cost but it just isn't possible. We did our best to not have to raise the price.

1 event: $250
2 events: $275
3 events: $300
4 events: $325
5 events: $350

ALL competitors will get a 7 day lift ticket for Copper. This will allow every competitor to ride every single day of Nationals including the Saturday practice day, all 5 of their competition days and their "day off".

Those that wish to petition for a spot at Nationals due to injury, foreign competitors or other extraordinary circumstances can download the petition form and submit by the deadline of March 6th, 2009 at midnight.
